SZA has released a darkly humorous and surreal music video for her song “Snooze,” which depicts the progression and downfall of five romantic relationships. The video features appearances by popstar Justin Bieber, actors Woody McClain and Young Mazino, star producer/songwriter Benny Blanco, and even a robot wearing a fitted cap. At the end of the video, there is an additional segment for a previously unreleased track. This segment begins with SZA embracing a partner in a beautiful field and ends with her alone, wearing only a thong. “Snooze” is the latest hit single from SZA’s album SOS, which held the number one spot on the charts for ten weeks in December.

Last week, the song entered the top ten of the Hot 100 chart after reaching the top positions on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs and R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay charts. Throughout the video, SZA performs the song for Justin Bieber in a cozy bedroom and even rides on top of his tractor before their interaction becomes more aggressive. She seductively dances for Woody McClain in a gym, but then competes for his attention while he plays video games. SZA and Young Mazino have a picnic on a farm and ride ATVs together, but their outing ends in an argument.

Benny Blanco seems to have a more relaxed experience, as he casually eats fries and ketchup off SZA’s naked back. Interestingly, the person SZA seems to end up with is the robot, for whom she performs an elaborate lap dance. The music video for “Snooze” is directed by Bradley J. Calder, who has previously worked on SZA’s videos for “PSA” and “Nobody Gets Me,” as well as several videos for artists like Tinashe and Jean Dawson. SZA had been teasing the arrival of the video on her Instagram account by sharing short clips throughout the month. Next month, she will begin the second leg of her North American tour in support of SOS.
