The Presidential Election Petitions Court confirmed on Wednesday that President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was elected lawfully. The court dismissed the allegations made by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, stating that they failed to provide sufficient evidence. Justice Haruna Tsammani declared that the petition lacked merit and upheld Tinubu’s election as the President of Nigeria.
The court also removed 37 exhibits presented by the witnesses from the records. Regarding the matter of document dumping, the court emphasized that it would only affect the credibility of the evidence. Additionally, the Tribunal reiterated its previous decision to dismiss the issues of Tinubu’s conviction and dual citizenship as incompetent.
