Some police officers in Lagos were caught hurting a man because he didn’t want to show them what was on his phone during a stop-and-search. This happened on May 3, 2023, in the Oko Oba area.

The man said he was driving with his friend when the police stopped them and asked to see their phones for no good reason.

When he said no, the police hurt him. At least three officers were involved, two in uniforms and one not in uniform. The man shared videos of what happened online. In the videos, you can see the police holding the man and hitting him.

They also dragged him across the street. The Nigerian Police Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said they will investigate and find out who the officers were.

The police spokesperson saw the video and said they need to investigate those police officers. They also said that the person in the video should send them a message with more information. They thought the video was really bad and wanted to figure out what happened.
