Our goal is to win the game against Newcastle United at St James’ Park. Only Liverpool and Manchester City have been able to do this since Eddie Howe became the boss of Newcastle United 18 months ago.
We have been doing really well this season by winning 11 games and scoring 33 goals when we play away from home. But, this game is going to be tough because Newcastle United has been playing really well at home.
They have won eight of their last nine games, including the last three games where they scored 13 goals and only allowed three goals.
Newcastle United is having their best season in over a decade and they are getting closer to joining us in the Champions League next season.
Last year, nobody thought the Magpies would be so close to getting into the Champions League after 20 years, but they’re almost there now! They’ve only lost four times in the league, even though they didn’t start off very well.
They won seven out of eight games before the World Cup break and were in third place. But then they got really excited about winning a trophy they hadn’t won in 44 years, and that made them lose some games.
They even lost to Manchester United in the League Cup final. Some people thought they would give up after that, but they didn’t!
They won eight out of nine games and beat Manchester United, West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Everton by a lot of points. They scored 22 times in seven games!
Arteta said that we want to play the game our way, but the other team wants to play a different way. Last time we played them, we should have won. But this time, things will be different and we need to be even better to win.
Howe said that last time we played them, we did really well. We were good at defending and attacking. But this time, we need to be just as good or even better to win.
