Burnley 0-3 Man City: Erling Haaland scored twice as City start the season with a win

The Premier League has returned with a bang! The new season kicked off with a match between newly-promoted Burnley and reigning champions Manchester City at Turf Moor. Right from the start, the champions demonstrated their continued excellence. Kevin De Bruyne made a brilliant run down the right wing, delivering a perfect cross to find Rodri in the box. Rodri expertly headed the ball down to Erling Haaland who tapped it into the net for the opening goal. This impressive display happened just four minutes into the game. Despite Burnley’s spirited efforts to respond, Haaland outshone himself later in the first half. Julian Alvarez passed the ball to him, and he took an audacious shot at the goal. The ball rocketed off the underside of the crossbar and into the net, extending City’s lead to two goals as the visitors headed into halftime.

Rodri further compounded Burnley’s troubles by scoring a well-executed third goal in the second half. This was followed by a challenging evening for Vincent Kompany’s team, highlighted by a late red card given to Anass Zaroury. Experience the thrilling moments as the Premier League resumes with Burnley as the host team against Manchester City.
